Kambo
Kambo is an excretion that is produced by the Phyllomedusa bi-color, otherwise known as the Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog from the Upper Amazon Basin regions of Brazil, Columbia and Peru.
The secretion from the infamous frog is it’s natural defense against potential predators (of which it has none).
For centuries, Amazonian tribes such as the Matses, Katukina and Kaxinawa have applied Kambo to small, superficial burns to the outer layer of the epidermis for a variety of reasons.
How is the secretion removed from the frog and
is the frog harmed during the proccess?
